The Community
Dobbs Ferry is a residential suburban village in Westchester County, located approximately ten miles north of New York City. The close proximity of the city provides our students with rich cultural opportunities, while still preserving the suburban atmosphere of the campus.

Directions

By Car
New York State Thruway-coming North:
Exit at Ardsley (Exit 7) bearing right onto Saw Mill River Road. At the first traffic light, make a left (over the bridge) onto Ashford Ave. At the 5th traffic light make a right onto Broadway. OLVA is approximately 1/2 mile on the left.

Saw Mill River Parkway-coming North:
Exit at Ashford Ave. (Exit 17). Make a left at the traffic light onto Ashford Ave. At the 4th light make a right onto Broadway. OLVA is approximately 1/2 mile on the left.

Saw Mill River Parkway-coming South:
Exit at Ashford Ave. (Exit 17) and continue straight on Ashford Ave. At the 3rd light make a right onto Broadway. OLVA is approximately 1/2 mile on the left.

By Bus
We can be reached by taking Westchester Public Transportation--Bee Line Buses. Students that travel on the Westchester Bee Line Buses are eligible for discounted bus stickers that are ordered monthly through the school.

Information and schedules are available by calling 914-682-2020. Student tickets for Westchester buses can be purchased at any Westchester bank or Westchester Department of Transportation.

The following districts provide busing. If your district is not listed, it may be that we do not currently have a student using this form of transportation. However you may be entitled to busing. Call your district office for information:

  • Chappaqua
  • Elmsford
  • Harrison
  • Ossining
  • Tarrytown
  • Croton-on-Hudson
  • Greenburgh
  • Mt. Pleasant
  • South Orangetown
  • Eastchester, Pelham, and Tuckahoe

Private Busing is available for students who come from Yonkers and Mt. Vernon area. The fee for this service is $1,100 annually.

Students residing in one of the 5 boroughs of New York City are entitled to a MetroCard for transportation to and from the school.

By Train
The Hudson Line of Metro North runs behind OLVA. The Ardsley stop is a short walking distance from the school. Students using Metro North are eligible for reduced fare tickets. The form can be obtained from the school office or the Metro North ticket office.
