The library is a support system, which provides essential resources and services to students and faculty and is open every school day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The library contains both reference and circulating volumes. A wide variety of magazines, both current and back issues can be found in the periodical section. A vertical file for pamphlets, etc., a copy machine and Internet connected computers and word processors are available for student use. Guidelines for the use of library computers are posted in the library.
Every student registered at OLVA is automatically a library member and may check out library materials. Books in circulation may be borrowed for three weeks. There is a fine of $.10 per day for overdue books. Any student who has an overdue book for longer than one week will be subject to detention each day the book is overdue. If a book is lost or damaged, full payment must be made for the book.
At all times behavior in the library is based on respect for others and school property. The atmosphere in the library should be that of silence and quiet study.
